Beaver Day - Spring 2026
- May 1
- 2 min read
On May 2 at 9AM, Friends of Brookville is sponsoring another build and work day at the Joseph A. Citta Scout Citta Scout Reservation (Brookville). The Order of the Arrow has graciously agreed to help with some of our projects that day, providing us with a labor pool of members but we need a lot more volunteers to pull it all off. Here are some of the projects being sponsored:
Rebuilding the stage at the council ring
Putting gutters on the Training Lodge
Re-decking the walkway to the main office
Re-decking the handicap ramp for the front building
General cleanup/debris removal/trail clearing
Pavilion construction
Warehouse/maintenance yard debris removal
Camp-wide speaker system repaired/refurbished
Dead branches removed throughout camp
Cleanup/setup of the trading post
Repainting the front entrance signs
Road grading and pothole repair
We need a multitude of volunteers with all sorts of skills. We need the following skills covered:
Carpentry/construction (for decks and pavilions)
Electrical (for reconnecting the lights on stage and speakers)
Gutter hanging (could really use someone in the business)
laborers (carrying and holding stuff)(raking and general clean up)
painting (some signs need repainting)
food prep (we need to eat)
Experienced backhoe operator (for grading)
If you have a skill, or just have a desire to help, we need all hands on deck (no pun intended). Seriously, you show up, I will guarantee we will find a project for your skillset to help beautify Citta Scout Reservation. Service time for youth? Absolutely.
This is why this group exists, to make camp better for the scouts it serves. So, please set May 2 aside and join us. Please respond here or reach out to any of the board members to tell us you are coming so we know how much food to buy and how much help to expect.
Thank you in advance for helping to make Citta Scout Reservation "America's favorite campground"
